Dr. Katherine Sternlieb PsyD, RN

I have been a registered nurse for over 30 years and am also a positive psychology practitioner. My main interests lie in positive psychology and health; both physical and emotional. I am fascinated that we can look to someone’s strengths, as opposed to their weaknesses and help someone cultivate strengths and positive emotion. I obtained my RN in 1988, my Masters in Psychology and then my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University in 2018. I have worked in many different areas including critical care, cardiac surgery, behavioral therapy and integrative medicine. It is my passion to help individuals become more health conscious, work with them to overcome barriers to healthy habits and help individuals cope with and gain resilience before, or after a medical procedure, or after being diagnosed with a medical illness. Utilizing my knowledge of the medical model, clinical psychology and the mind-body interaction, I look to the whole or holistic view of health and wellness. Continue Reading
