What is your vision for yourself? Are you envisioning a life with love, success, and fulfillment? Aren’t we all? Would you like to be one of those people who seem to sail through life seemingly making the right choices, thriving on the life they have created for themselves? Well, that person can be you! But many of us don’t know where to start, or what we really want. Many of us don’t really know ourselves nor have a specific understanding of what we want out of life. How do we start the journey of self discovery?
In order to live our dream life we need to set our vision and manifest what we desire. Many of us have difficulty with actually setting our vision. We kind of know what we want and think about how our life could be different and how we could empower ourselves. But actually changing our ways and manifesting our desires and “Setting” our vision is when and only when we will begin to see our life changing and experience a fulfilled peaceful life. Setting our vision is about taking care of ourselves and imagining that, YES, we can have what we desire and further more, we DESERVE what we desire.
In order to live the life we dream of, we HAVE to feel and become empowered. Empowerment gives us the backbone of how we feel about accomplishing our goals, living our dreams and having everything we want in life. We are all destined for greatness. This is something you have to believe. YOU are destined just as much as your neighbor next door, the actress you saw in the great play, that author you respect, anyone that seems to have found their true, authentic life. If you believe that you are destined to live your life as it plays out without empowering yourself and transcending your life, then you will. It is as simple as that. Believing it is the first step.
In order to know and understand our needs we have to examine our lives. Reflect on who you are and what your life has been like up until today. Make a list of the positive actions you have accomplished. Make a list of the things and people you are grateful for in your life. Then write a list of the goals you would like to achieve in the future. Write down also, the relationships you would like to work on or change. Sometimes when we really reflect on things and make a list it tells us things we need to know. An example of this is a woman who says “I want to change people’s lives”. But, the question is, how specifically would she want to accomplish this? Or, “I want to make my marriage better”. The question is how, specifically does she wants to accomplish this. Once you have made a list of the positive and negative factors, influences in your life review it. Have you been specific enough? If not, be specific. Write down the areas of change and specific goals. Gaining knowledge from this exercise will make you feel more empowered to take action.
By reflection we can gain a lot of insight as to who we are, who we want to be, what our positive traits are and be able to formulate what our desires and goals are. Sometimes this may take awhile. We go through our lives without thinking. Here are some recommended ideas:
Start your journey by cleaning out old ideas and old material things. Take ownership over your life. You have heard that saying “clean house, clean mind”. Well, there may be something to that. If things in our lives are left unfinished or disorganized it could be a sign of more disorganization in our selves. Organize yourself. If you have left over things in your life you cannot commit to yourself as well. Clean out the closets, clean up your old e-mails, clean out the kitchen shelves and that old storage area. Sometimes you even learn something about yourself by going through old papers or material things. Make room for the new empowered way of thinking. Throw out things from the past that you will never use. Make room for the future.
Don’t be hard on yourself; appreciate you and focus on the positive. This is empowering in itself. Make room for new thoughts and new occurrences in your life. Open your mind to change. Open your mind to the wondrous possibilities in your life.
So…it is really only a matter of finding and using your empowerment tool kit to achieve that vision you have.
